Social Software : think about people first

Considering social software, I’ve always thought that social practices and people’s waits were more important that the “system”. I didn’t say anything else in wy mote about alignment : tool is the consequence of the human component. Without accurate behaviors your social intranet will be a real flop. The intrant can help people to adopt the needed behaviors but the organization, if not adapted can also be a huge brake.
So, before thinking about what to deploy, ask ourselves how we want to function, what are our waits. We talk too often about software and machines but they’ll only do what people are ready to make them do.
