Hi Bertrand
Your blog was the first site where I landed up when I searched for Employee 2.0 - the person which I think finally matters -in this noisy world of enterprise 2.0. I am from Enterprise 1.1 world where I play a role of Consulting and Project Manager for my enterprise 1.0 customer - trying to get them to Enterprise 1.1 arena.
But we can not generalize employee 2.0 - there are employee 1.0 to 1.9 in this business world - also there is Salesman , Project Manger, Bank Customer Supporter - everybody has her own challenges and like/dislikes to be part of enterprise 2.0. So we need to understand what really matter for the employee - why she would go one step extra to satisfy the CIOs vision of enterprise 2.0.
Looking forward for more insights from you.
Thank your for coming here
Really…there I two things that upset me in the enterprise 2.0 discussion :
- enterprise as an entity by itself is often forgotten although it’s the center of the topic
- although enterprise 2.0 seem to be about people, we have talks about everything 2.0 but people.
Sure, employee 2.0 is an abstract model and we have to consider employees from 0.9 to 2.1 working togetheir in an organization which can can systematically afford being 2.0. Depending on the business, on its culture, being 1.5 could be a great improvement.
What will be key, I think, is building an organization to make both 1.0 and 2.0 people work together since we know not everybody will embrace 2.0 “way of work” right now. It’s someting really new : we were used to manage change, now, we’ll have to manage unchange.
To do so we’ll have to understand everyone’s stakes…build an organisation which would be suitable for all…without forgettint it has to fulfill the enterprise’s goals !
You’re really pointing at something very important. I really have to digg that.
In a few years (or less..or more) I think 2.0 will be maintream. In the meanwhile we will have to take into account all these kinds of people.
