With I-Prize Cisco Hammer It into Crowdsourcing for Innovation

-

Some time ago, I told you about Cisco and its Human Network project. One of the points I raised was how Cisco was going to position itself as a facilitator, or whether the business was going to give itself the opportunity to exploit the fruits of its network operation. Of course, the answer was obvious, but here it is in the form of I-Prize.

This is nothing less than a competition for business ideas. Participants can also rely on Human Network to help them refine their concepts.

And with what hopes?

To be hired by CISCO to implement their business plan, with a $250,000 signing bonus. Not bad. Cisco is devoting $10 million to this program, proving once again the profitability of outsourced, distributed innovation – in short, crowdsourcing.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had any interest in either La Nouvelle Star or La Starac… but I’ll gladly take a look at the auditions for the finalists.

I also see another benefit: CISCO is improving its image on the job market and positioning itself as an open, agile and innovative business. These are essential characteristics for new entrants to the job market. A good operation in terms of employer branding.
